The ECABoard of Directors is happy to announce the selection of Ray Baca to provide executive leadership for our organization. The selection came after an exhaustive effort by the Executive Search Committee and we thank them for their effort.
Baca brings to the position a wealth of experience in fields ranging from strategic public policy development and legislative advocacy to executive management and labor relations in the construction industry.
Baca has focused his efforts as an advocate for innovate strategic initiatives that promote collaboration and achievement of organization mission through team and coalition building specific to public policy development, legislative advancement, political action strategy, and association leadership.
Most recently, Baca held the position of Executive Director for the Northwest Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association in Seattle where his focus was on public policy, labor relations, and administration.
Prior to that he was the General Manager for Product Support Sales, Parts Distribution, and Inventory Control for NC Machinery, the Caterpillar Dealer for Western Washington. Additionally, Baca held the position General Manager for Road Machinery, LLC, leading the equipment sales and product support efforts for the Komatsu dealership’s New Mexico and West Texas region.
His experience also includes six years as Executive Director of the New Mexico Building & Construction Trades Council.
Among other highlights in his professional career Baca served as:
- Chair of the Business & Labor Coalition of the New Mexico Workers Compensation Advisory Council.
- Speaker of the House-appointed member of the New Mexico Legislative Jobs Council focused on economic base jobs creation.
- Campaign Cabinet member of the United Way.
- Board Member of the New Mexico Green Collaborative focused on ‘green’ economic development
Baca holds both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
Additionally, Baca’s business acumen was developed through a focus on product and customer support management. His combined experience in these distinct areas affords him a broad perspective regarding strategy development, advocacy, and execution, as well as client and human capital needs of construction related entities.
